The Challenge
The client needed a digital platform that balanced visually rich storytelling—such as complex project moodboards—with technical reliability. The primary challenge was to translate a bespoke design into a performant, custom-coded WordPress theme that was easy for the client to update, yet rigid enough to maintain design integrity as the company scaled its operations and integrations.
The Approach
My development strategy focused on modularity and long-term sustainability. I avoided bloated page builders, opting instead for a custom-coded WordPress theme powered by ACF (Advanced Custom Fields). This allows the client to build complex layouts using pre-defined, reusable components without breaking the design.
To ensure the codebase remained clean and scalable, I implemented:
- ITCSS Architecture: To manage the CSS hierarchy effectively, ensuring the stylesheet remains organized and predictable as the site grows.
- BEM Methodology: To create reusable, consistent UI components that prevent style conflicts.
- Seamless Ecosystem Integrations: I bridged the gap between marketing and operations by integrating Amelia for automated scheduling and Capsule CRM to centralize lead management.
- Professional DevOps: The site was migrated to WP Engine for enterprise-grade performance, with a robust Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics configuration to track user behavior throughout the funnel.
The Impact
The result is a high-performance website that serves as both a brand showcase and a functional business tool. The client now has total autonomy over content management via the custom ACF components, eliminating the need for developer intervention for daily updates. By connecting the frontend directly to CRM and booking systems, the site now functions as an automated sales machine that maintains the sophisticated look and feel established by the design team.
